Volunteer Pool News and Highlights

The Volunteer Pool of Highland Park invites residents to celebrate National Volunteer Week, April 27 - May 3, by honoring their favorite volunteers. 
Make a donation in the volunteer's name and a contribution card will be sent to the honoree acknowledging  their service and the gift. Donations should be sent to Volunteer Pool, 1936 Green Bay Rd., Highland Park, Il 60035.  Or to do this in person, visit the Volunteer Pool booth at the Highland Park Earth Festival '08  in the Ravinia business district on Saturday,  May 3 from 10 am -3 pm.  Donations are tax deductible.

Hot Opportunity:

The Book Nook at the Highland Park Library is looking for book lovers to help sort and sell books. Sorting happens on Tuesday or Thursday afternoons. Selling happens on Thursdays and Saturdays from 10:30 – 4:30. Most shifts are two hours.

Bonus: Volunteers at the Book Nook get the first look at for sale books and can make their purchases. Books are 50 cents or $1 each, so getting first pick of the bargains is a nice benefit.
